Strings of Compassion – A Concert for Cancer
Presented by the Taranaki Classical Guitar Summer School (TCGSS)

The Taranaki Classical Guitar Summer School (TCGSS) is a biennial, not-for-profit, familyfriendly event that celebrates the strength and diversity of New Zealand’s classical guitar community. With strong roots in Taranaki, the distinctive character of the region has played an important role in welcoming students and international tutors from around the world. Their continued return speaks to the dedication of these professionals, the high calibre of the week-long programme, and its significance for students and families from across New Zealand and Australia.

At the conclusion of the Summer School, TCGSS presents a special one-off combined concert, bringing together all participating students alongside world-class international artists.
Following the success of 2024, TCGSS is proud to once again partner with the Taranaki Health Foundation (THF)and 4th Wall Theatre to present the Extravaganza Finale Concert, Strings of Compassion – A Concert for Cancer

All ticket revenue will be donated to the Taranaki Health Foundation in support of the new Taranaki Cancer Care Centre at Base Hospital.
One hundred percent of donations to THF go directly toward projects that enhance healthcare services in our region. The new Cancer Care Centre will be a stand-alone facility providing haematology, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy services under one roof, significantly reducing the need for patients to travel to Palmerston North for treatment.
