From one of musical theatre's most exciting new composers comes Ordinary Days, a refreshingly honest and funny musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps (but probably should at some point). A heartfelt and moving sung through musical that beautifully captures the extraordinary moments hidden within everyday life. As these four characters flounder through all-too-familiar everyday obstacles, they slowly edge closer to connecting with each other—and to understanding that an ordinary event can have extraordinary effects.
Four young New Yorkers find themselves in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. For each, the visit is to prove to be the catalyst they need to reach their own epiphany.
Jason and Claire have been together for around a year and are moving their relationship to the next level as Jason moves in. But there is somehow some distance between them. Can they overcome that...Jason hopes that a visit to the Met will help recapture the heady early days of their relationship.
Deb and Warren are initially strangers until Warren finds Deb’s lost research notes on Virginia Woolf, and they meet to have him return them. Both seem to be treading water, looking for a new purpose, though neither would necessarily admit that.
It’s an ordinary day, one of many, that will have an extraordinary impact on each of their lives

It's another day out here in the Metropolis and I'm employed as an ambassador for a very, very influential downtown artist, who's been featured in the New York Times. This guy, he is a genius, he paints these pithy saying all across the city but then he got arrested, cause I guess it is illegal.
And he has hired me to watch his cat

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, lived in a Cul de sac that's literally a road that goes nowhere, the definition of a dead end. I can’t wait to learn, to do a three-point turn because I really don’t want to be here...
Graduate top of my class (thank you). And since I’m a dork, I’ve moved to New York and started Grad School...I really don’t want to be here

Fourteen blocks I walk every single day, Claire lives so far away. I get to her place and say, we’ve been together a year, wouldn’t it be genius if I lived right here?
I buzz her door, and flash her my sexy grin, and the next thing you know I’m moving in.
This is her apartment and filled with all her stuff...where do I put my shoes?
My name is Claire
I’ve got out of date planners and dog-eared posters, and I think “What in God’s name was I keeping these for”. My boyfriend’s moving in, that’s how I begin. Now I really need the space, so I have to clean this place. I’ve been petrified to see what’s been kept inside these chests and drawers and you can’t let them go. I should have done this years ago. Where is he going to put his shoes?
