Hobnail and The Londons are joining forces for a special night at New Plymouth’s 4th Wall Theatre on Saturday 2nd August, for a guaranteed evening of great songs and good humour.
Andrew and Kirsten will kick the night off with their signature satirical social observations, inviting members of Hobnail to contribute special sauce throughout.
Hobnail will then take the stage with “Jo Moir's barnstorming fiddle”, great songs and spectacular harmonies for a set that will make your “feet move and your heart sing.”
Andrew and Kirsten will be rejoining Hobnail at the end of their set to help bring home what promises to be one of the highlights of the year at The 4th Wall.
Hobnail celebrated 30 years of active service in 2024, and now in 2025 will be touring across New Zealand with new album by core members Rob Joass (vocals, guitar, mandola) Jo Moir (vocals, violin) and Hamish Graham (vocals, guitars, percussion). The new album features reworked versions of some of their much loved originals as well as some crowd favourite Kiwi and Australian cover versions. These songs highlight the vocal and instrumental interplay between these 3 exceptional musicians.
Andrew London has been writing, recording and touring continuously since forming swing trio Hot Club Sandwich in the1990s. Now performing under his own name with partner & bass-player Kirsten, the duo has played jazz, folk and arts festivals in New Zealand and Australia. His songs have contributed to a Correspondence School English Syllabus, National Radio's 'Greatest Song Ever Written’ and several feature films. Out of 20 albums of mainly original songs, two have received 4-star reviews in Downbeat USA, the World’s most widely read jazz magazine, and one was a Tui award finalist in the country genre.
