This September, the spotlight shines on Taranaki’s outstanding, world-reaching musical talent in ELEVATE – Taranaki Artists for Taranaki Artists. A powerful one-night showcase that brings together acclaimed Taranaki artists to raise funds for the next wave of talent in the region.
Headlining the night is one of Aotearoa’s most influential musical figures, Barnaby Weir, the creative force behind The Black Seeds and Fly My Pretties. With growing deep roots in Taranaki, Barnaby brings his unmistakable voice, genre-blending songwriting, and commanding stage presence to this special event — a rare chance to experience his solo work in an intimate setting.
Also taking the stage is internationally acclaimed folk-pop artist Graeme James, celebrated for his lush soundscapes and multi-instrumental talents, and Carylann, an award-winning country singer-songwriter known for her emotive performances, strong vocals, and heartfelt storytelling.
Opening the evening are rising local stars Moemoeā, weaving new voices into this tapestry of Taranaki sound.
Proceeds support the Taranaki Singer Songwriter Development Trust, which helps elevate the region’s original music through mentoring, events, and community initiatives.
