What do Don Giovanni and Julie Andrews have in common, you might ask? Well, not much.
Wanderlust Opera returns to the 4th Wall with something a little different: two tales of love and obsession.
In the left corner, it's Stuart Coats' ingenious blend of parody and grand opera in his tour-de-force, one-man version of Mozart's Don Giovanni, 50 action-packed minutes of lust, murder and revenge.
In the right corner is Georgia Jamieson Emms, who was raised on a diet of Julie Andrews musicals, with a one woman part-biography, part self help seminar set to a nostalgic soundtrack of songs from The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady and Mary Poppins.
Accompanied by NZ's musical theatre treasure Mark Dorrell, "The Don" and "These Are A Few of My Favourite Sings" will be performed back-to-back on Saturday 13th July at 7.30pm and Sunday 14th July 4pm matinee.
Devised and performed by Stuart Coats
Directed by Lyndee-Jane Rutherford
Lust! Revenge! Murder! The adventures and exploits of Mozart's notorious lothario, Don Giovanni, with Stuart Coats (and a puppet) performing every role in the opera. A wild operatic parody and a hilarious tour-de-force show, this is opera cliff notes on speed and an audience favourite in the Fringe Festival.
