British singer-songwriter and author

23rd October 2018

Terence Blacker has performed his quirky, witty songs of modern life ('Sharp satirical thinking put into song…
You’re going to love it’  Folkwords) at venues and festivals across Britain and Europe.

He has released three highly praised CDs, Lovely Little Games (2012), Sometimes Your Face Don't Fit (2016) and Enough About Me (2018).

In 2013, he performed his one-man show of songs and stories
My Village and Other Aliens at the Edinburgh Festival ('Honest, dry and charmingly musical' Three Weeks).

For BBC Radio 4, he wrote and co-presented Taboo-Be-Do!, a two-part documentary tracing the history of politically incorrect songs.

As an author, he has written five acclaimed novels and his prize-winning fiction for children is published in many languages.
He has also been a newspaper columnist for the Sunday Times and the Independent.

This is his first tour of New Zealand. www.terenceblacker.com

'Huge fun... it put a big smile on my face.'   Tom Robinson, BBC6 Music

'A treat -  witty, wistful, wonderful.'   Gyles Brandreth

'He's been compared with Jacques Brel, but the singer-guitarist's gently humorous domestic sketches are closer to another chanson master, George Brassens.... Marriage Song #1 is a quiet masterpiece.'    Sunday Times

A delight in every way... Mr Blacker's spirit is indomitable, precise and with compassion, a rare delicacy to be able to combine expert satire with the longing for humanity.'
Liverpool Sound and Vision

'Nothing about Terence Blacker is particularly normal... This album is a testament to that.'   Maverick
